As part of our effort to introduce our professional services to Vermont wedding officiants, JPus is hosting an open house for JPs and other secular officiants in the state. MA bill increases compensation
JPus supports Massachusetts Senator Sal DiDomenico’s bill to increase the fees that a JP may charge to officiate a wedding. Last week, on behalf of our MA members, JPus submitted a statement to the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight asking for a vote in favor. Read statement here.

A Long-Shot
It was a long-shot, but we did it! The fight over the New Hampshire Special Marriage Officiant bill is over. Thank you to all the New Hampshire JPs who didn’t give up. Together, our emails, phone calls, signatures and testimony made a difference. Ultimately, the bill got stuck in conference and died. Read more to get a better understanding of what happened.

Full Senate Votes
Forty-three New Hampshire JPs and JPus members endorsed JPus’ written testimony, submitted to the state Senate before its final hearing on the special marriage officiant bill. This is the last opportunity to block HB295. The full senate votes on the bill May 30th. Details are available here.
