The Justice of the Peace Association’s Facebook Page is different than its private, members-only Facebook Group. Our Page is public-facing and has a whole lot of benefits that the Group doesn’t offer. It can be a little confusing. The article Social Media Benefits talks a little bit more about the differences between the two.
Because our Page is public, non-JPus members are able to see and engage with our posts. It is an opportunity to build allies on issues that we care about. In order to make the most of social media, we all need to participate. Our social network becomes stronger when we Like, Follow and review pages. And then Like and share posts. These engagements give JPus credibility. And, that carries over to our membership, giving you credibility too.
- A powerful JPus Facebook page is beneficial for our outreach on issues where we want non-member engagement. For instance, robust posts with lots of engagement about amateur officiants, child and forced marriage, and marriage equality bring attention to these issues. This amplifies our message.
- Facebook’s algorithm rewards Pages that have frequent engagement.
- Your Likes and Follows to our Page and posts tell your network what is going on. This increases our reach and raises our voice. It brings additional attention to the issues that matter to us, and to the work that we’re doing. It gives civil marriage officiants extra credibility.
Reviews
One of our mantras is that when our members look good, we look good too. This goes both ways. When JPus looks good, it ads prestige for our membership.
If you are pleased with JPus, please consider letting others know, too! We know how important testimonials are to our findaJP profiles. Well, they are valuable for JPus, too. Writing a Recommendation on our JPus Facebook Page will improve our stats. This is valuable, and gives us more leverage when advocating for issues that you care about. Your reviews amplify our authority and credibility. And they make it easier for others trust what we have to say.
